One of the best of 2017 so far. It's always satisfying for me when a band continues with a sound that won them over with me. Too many bands decide to tweak their sound and add more auto-tune or change things up altogether to get played on Top 40 radio, but not here.

subsequent descent into madness, this book was a favorite of artist
Joseph Cornell’s, and its author was championed by both Marcel Proust
and André Breton. One of the original self-styled “bohemians,” Nerval
was best known in his own day for parading a lobster on a pale blue
ribbon through the gardens of the Palais-Royal, and for his suicide in
1855, hanging from an apron string he called the garter of the Queen of
Sheba.

This song is terribly underrated.

To me, “barking in the wrong key”means not prioritizing/focusing on what’s most important (doing things to impress others/worrying about what is “cool”, showing off meaningless materialistic items, etc). And you/we sing along is saying sometimes we lose sight of what is most important too, even if we don’t mean too.
“Can you see at night?
We can see at night” is important to all of this because it’s ultimately asking can YOU see what truly holds the most value through all the darkness?

back when emo was emo for good reasons. You can still hear and fell the old school emo vibes in the music. Its artst while not being pretentious, and its sung with meaning not yelled or with the stereotypical rocker accent.
