No one today appreciates where it all came from anymore.... That's so sad...
LETRASI've been away from you a long time
I never thought I'd missed you so
Somehow I feel
You love is real
Near you I long to wanna beThe birds are singin', it is song time
The banjos strummin' soft and low
I know that you
Yearn for me too
Swanee! You're calling me!Swanee!
How I love you, how I love!
My dear ol' Swanee
I'd give the world to be
Among the folks in
D-I-X-I-E-ven now My mammy's
Waiting for me
Praying for me
Down by the Swanee
The folks up north will see me no more
When I go to the Swanee Shore! The birds are singin', it is song time
The banjos strummin' soft and low
I know that you
Yearn for me too
Swanee! You're calling me!Swanee, Swanee, I am coming back to Swanee!
Mammy, Mammy, I love the old folks at home!

1:07-1:18.; One of my bird's always chirped when this part would come on.
I down-loaded this song for my late grandmother (my dad's mother) when I was in 5th grade, which was when I got introduced to down-loading music, in the first place.
Great times...

Al Bernard did a million times better version with a much more pleasent voice. This vetsion feels only sad very sad and I not get they good feelings Al Bernard’s version gives me. Also Peerless Quaret did a million times better version
