Review by Andrew Miller

My Jazz Collection 36 by Clifford Brown is a remarkable album that showcases the talent and virtuosity of the legendary jazz trumpeter. The album features some of Brown's most iconic performances, including his famous rendition of "Joy Spring," which is a masterclass in improvisation and technical proficiency.

From the very first note, it's clear that Brown is a true master of his craft. His playing is crisp, precise, and full of energy, and he effortlessly weaves his way through complex chord progressions and intricate melodies. The album also features some fantastic performances by the other members of Brown's band, including saxophonist Harold Land and pianist Richie Powell.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Daahoud," which features some truly breathtaking solos by Brown and Land. The two musicians play off each other beautifully, trading licks and building up the energy of the piece to a thrilling climax.
