If General MacArthur's plans were carried out according to his military strategy to wipe out communists Korea and let nationalist China re-take China by opening another front in Fukien Province, China, the history of the world would be completely changed! USA did not make good use of its military might and supremacy to do so, especially under President Truman [one of the most incompetent US presidents] then. The consequence is communism in China still exists today becoming the sole ruling party and ultimately the second strongest military and economic nation in the world. The adversary / enemy of the USA is much much stronger today. USA repeatedly made so many errors when dealing with Communist China in the past decades.......some of the presidents need to take the blame e.g Truman, Nixon, Carter, Clinton, Obama, and Biden [they all have wishful thinking] !

The audio of his speech at west point in 1962 is on youtube..... The duty, honor, country speech. He and his wife are buried there. You can sense how much the army and west point meant to him.
