The Edge Of Forever, the second album by the British band Dream Academy, was released in 1988. About The Dream Academy
The Dream Academy are an English folk rock, dream pop and sophisti-pop band, comprising singer/guitarist , multi-instrumentalist , and keyboardist . The group was active from 1983 to 1991, at which point they disbanded. Nick and Kate reunited as "The Dream Academy (Nick And Kate)" in October of 2016 to play three shows in Japan.

My sister took me and my little brother to see this movie, and it was a double feature with Weird Science. It was great. Now my sister and I don't talk much, and my little brother killed himself 25 years ago, when he was only 21 yrs old. Years later, I have only these wonderful memories to cherish and the songs to go with them

If you listen to the lyrics the song is actually quite sad. “Cuz now that you’re older I feel fallen down. I wanna run to someone, but there’s nobody around.” To me, the song tells a tale of loving someone since a young age, and watching them grow apart from you over time, until they’re no longer around at all. Love this song, but connect with it on a much deeper level now having actually read the lyrics.

Class of 2003 here, grew up in the 90s and made it a point to learn about the 80s. Damn it seemed so amazing.

I was born in 1984, but at 6 years old, this movie was my favorite. My father taped it from TV on VHS. I watched it religiously once a month. I absolutelly loved the soundtrack, this song in particular. I got a funny story with this movie. On the Ferrari scene, where Cameron begin to smash it, there was a crease in the vhs tape, and the whole scene skip until the car was already smashed on the ground below the house. I never got to see that scene until, in 2004, when my father gave me a dvd of the film. It was amazing to finally discover how that went. I never got to know who sing this song until today, july 9th, 2022. I was listening to some 80s songs and this got recomended. I genuinelly cry listening. I felt 6 years old again. I feel like i've seen that car crash scene for the first time again. It was magic.
If only the 80’s could have lasted longer than just a decade…
Listening to this after getting paid is so indescribable.
