Review by Jos Bernadus Manullang

Ramrod by Duane Eddy His "Twangy" Guitar & The Rebels is a classic album that showcases the iconic sound of the rock and roll legend. Released in 1958, the album features 12 tracks that display Eddy's signature guitar style, which became known as "twangy."

The album kicks off with the title track "Ramrod," a high-energy instrumental that sets the tone for the rest of the record. Other standout tracks include "Cannonball," "The Lonely One," and "Shazam!" which all feature Eddy's impressive guitar skills and the tight backing of The Rebels.

While the album is primarily instrumental, Eddy's guitar playing is so expressive that it never feels lacking in vocals. The production quality is also top-notch, with the songs sounding crisp and clear even decades later.

As fans know, Duane Eddy's first album is titled "Have Twangy Guitar Will Travel" in which we find several international hits. Congratulations and greetings from Italy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFs9RC4oO4E * CANNONBALL * (Duane Eddy - Gretsch Guitar cover)

Except it wasn't by Duane. I was never so disappointed as when I discovered that it was yet another example of Lee Hazelwood passing off an Al Casey track as being by Duane Eddy.

This is almost identical to Al Casey's 1957 record "She Gotta Shake." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgugQNlf2ac

The Walker is a nice and characteristic folk song that in Italy came out as side "B" of the 45 rpm "Ramrod": Congratulations and greetings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8dzxT_mBVw *THE WALKER* Gretsch Guitar cover by *Duane Eddy*
