Review by Wayne Tennant

Sure Looks Real is the third studio album by American rock band Eden's Children, released in 1968. The album showcases the band's growth as musicians, with a more refined sound and sophisticated songwriting.

The album opens with the catchy and upbeat "Goodbye Girl," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's harmonies are on full display in tracks like "Stone Fox" and "Sunrise," while "Lost in My World" and "My Bad Habit" showcase the band's ability to write introspective and emotional lyrics.

The album's standout track is undoubtedly "Just Let Go," a hauntingly beautiful ballad that showcases the band's ability to create a stirring melody and poignant lyrics. The album closes with the upbeat and optimistic "Sure Looks Real," which leaves the listener feeling uplifted and hopeful.

Summary by Wayne Tennant

Sure Looks Real is a solid album that showcases Eden's Children's growth as musicians and songwriters. The band's harmonies and melodies are as strong as ever, and the album's introspective lyrics add depth and complexity to the band's sound. It's a must-listen for fans of 60s rock and roll.

Invitation C 11. Echoes C Sure Looks Real, their second and final album, is actually a step down from the debut, if you didn't think it was possible to get any lower. This one is even more desultory, certifying the band as two-bit. It was probably the most they could ever amount to. As you may have expected, the songwriting is still horrendous. The style is more psychedelic than before, but that's not exactly a good thing for them. The best offerings are the title track-despite the risible lyrics-and the following "Toasted", a riff-driven rocker a la Cream. The unbalanced sound mix doesn't help the song though. It's weird how the band peaks after a mere two tracks and then plummets downhill. The remaining tracks either inherently suck or the vocals totally undermine them, not to mention the playing is frequently off. The tunes also seem to lack any refrains whatsoever. One particular vocal that's hard to endure is on "Spirit Call", although there's a short guitar raveup that should've lasted longer. There's one moment of rescue, and that's the harsh hard-rock "Wings". But then you're pulled back underwater for the remainder.

Приличная команда. Играли некоммерческую музыку и не стали популярными.
A decent team. Played non-commercial music and did not become popular.

This album was forced and contrived. Their first album was a natural tour de force. No pressure and they kicked ass. This follow up album was the bands demise. They gave into the pressure of the record company forcing them to come up with a follow up to their first album. They could have been one of the best bands from this period but in my opinion they were let down by the record label they were were signed to.

great three piece band both of their lps are top notch richard sham schmach is a great guitarist.i knew the first time i heard it it was quality.i heard the first lp then this lp i noticed straight away both lps were highly original & they were exceptional musicians.i need to hear bands like this on analogue lps ive got me a fine stereo & my records sound amazing.i hate labels that pointlessly digitally remaster the vinyl reissues every one ive compared has vital parts of the original recordings missing.im not saying ban mp3 & cd but digital tech is sonically inferior & cannot be true to musical history.im not having a dig at you mate im glad you have posted it im saying to labels respect musical history & what these bands intended us to hear great post....

Song is nice and long! You can really live in this sound. You can "almost reach out and touch it" ;) At just under 5 minutes, very unusual and downright awesome for a smaller band :)
