Review by Esther Nelson

Arts Metiers is Eric Scott's latest album, featuring a collection of ten tracks that showcase his diverse musical abilities. From the opening track, "The End of the Beginning," listeners are drawn into a world of intricate melodies and thoughtful lyrics.

Scott's voice is smooth and emotive, carrying the listener through each song with ease. The album's sound is polished, with a mix of acoustic and electronic instruments that blend seamlessly together.

One standout track is "Mystery Man," which features a haunting piano melody and lyrics that evoke a sense of longing and nostalgia. Another highlight is "Lost in Translation," a catchy pop-infused track with a driving beat and infectious chorus.

Throughout the album, Scott's lyrics touch on themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, making for a deeply personal and introspective listening experience. The album's title, Arts Metiers, translates to "crafts and trades," which feels fitting as Scott's expertise in music production and songwriting shines through on every track.

About Eric Scott

Eric Scott is a self-taught sound sculptor whose source material chiefly includes original samples of guitar sounds, home-made and found mechanical noises, analog synth gear and environmental field recordings. He readily admits the studio as his second home, and is an exponent on the benefits and strategies of creativity within a digital lifestyle. His passion for the world of interdisciplinary arts and multimedia has, most significantly, led to a branching out into areas of consultation and design for the web and for print; two additional areas he has worked in professionally since 1991. Since the 1980s he has accepted commissions and has collaborated with other like-minded artists, to create musical and artistic works now found in the Day For Night imprint and catalogue. **For the Australian (Country Music) Engineer, please use
