About Gérard Desreumaux Et Son Accordeon

Gérard Desreumaux is a Belgian accordionist. He was born in Wervik (Belgium) on 5/1/1923 with a big passion for music. On his sixteenth he participated in an international accordeon competition in Roubaix (France) and won from more then 100 participants. In 1959, together with his pianist , he started his own record label: . He made more than 240 compositions and worked together with , and to name just a few. Soon he got the titles Koning van de Swing and Icoon van de accordeon. He was associate at SABAM (Belgian association of authors, composers and publishers). On 27/11/1982 Gérard died in Menen (Belgium) due to an incurable desease.
