About Jules De Corte

Prolific singer, composer, pianist and poet. He was born in Deurne (The Netherlands) 29 March 1924. At the age of one he became blind. Already at a young age he became organist in a catholic church. Later in his life De Corte performed often in theatres, released various singles and albums as well as books with poems and stories. His work was both humourous and socially engaged. He wrote numerous songs for KRO Radio and received many prestigious Dutch awards, including the Louis Davids-prijs, the Gouden Harp and the Edison. Jules De Corte died in Eindhoven, 16 February 1996.
