Review by Joseph mccree

Edition Liszt 1811-1886 is an album that showcases the incredible talent of Liszt France Clidat, accompanied by the Orchestre Symphonique De RadioTélé Luxembourg under the direction of Jean-Claude Casadesus. The album is a celebration of the works of Franz Liszt, one of the most influential composers of the Romantic era.

The album features a selection of Liszt's most beloved pieces, including the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, the Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major, and the Mephisto Waltz No. 1. Clidat's virtuosic piano playing is a true highlight of the album, as she expertly navigates the complex and challenging compositions with ease.

The Orchestre Symphonique De RadioTélé Luxembourg provides a lush and dynamic backdrop for Clidat's performance, with Jean-Claude Casadesus expertly leading the ensemble through each piece. The result is a collection of recordings that are both technically impressive and emotionally stirring.

Born: October 22, 1811, Doborján, Austria-Hungary (present-day Raiding, Austria). Died: July 31, 1886, Bayreuth, Germany. Franz Liszt was a Hungarian composer, virtuoso pianist, conductor, music teacher, arranger, organist, philanthropist, author, nationalist and a Franciscan tertiary. He was a renowned performer throughout Europe, noted especially for his showmanship and great skill with the piano. To this day, he is considered by some to have been the greatest pianist in history. Liszt's musical invention went into territories which were then almost unexplored, in particular as regards harmonic research, as emerges from the late piano works, which led him to anticipate fragments of harmonies from the early twentieth century. His preference for program music is testified by the numerous symphonic poems he composed. Father-in-law to .
