The prog rock leaders of the British Invasion. When you think about it, the Beatles and Stones had nothing on these guys musically. Cultural impact and hit tunes? No. But listen to the band! Their album and personnel history is a study unto itself. "Over Under Sideways Down," "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago," the Beck version of "I'm a Man," even the early hits and the blues-centric recordings with Clapton --- VERY IMPORTANT musical history. The guitar playing? 'Nuf said. I can't remember if I had ever heard "The Nazz Is Blue," but I knew of the song since Todd Rundgren cadged the word Nazz to name his Philly group. Thank you for this upload.

These records are quite rare and the original pressings are worth well past $100 per LP and go figure this one out right?

Maybe along with The Beatles, The Yardbirds were the best band from early 60's to mid.

Check out the USA album cover, much better than Roger the Engineer. ONE OF THE BEST ROCK ALBUMS. EVER. Beck's legacy with the band.

Ralph Hullet and Jerry Prochnicky’s book Whole Lotta Led: Our flight with Led Zeppelin brought me here. Ralph explains in the first chapter how the Yardbirds music differed from that of fellow brits The Stones and Beatles in that it was more freeform and jam oriented. I owed it to my self to listen to this recording here. It’s hasn’t disappointed I can tell you that. It puts in perspective where music was and where it was headed. Jimmy caught lightning in a bottle when he culled Jones, Plant and Bonham as we all know. The first Zeppelin records’ crisp production set it apart from all others before it and of the same day. Jimmy’s production skills did shine. Up went the Hindenburg to change everything during the seventies. Thank you for playing this record and posting this. I can hear how important a band the Yardbirds were. It puts it ALL into perspective. I hear Aerosmith in here as well as James Gang and others who I can’t think of right now. Relf blew a mean harp man......! Thanks again.
