Lovely Little Girls - Cleaning The Filth From A Delicate Frame

In case you don't know Lovely Little Girls, they are a Chicago-based band founded originally for a one-off performance by Gregory Jacobson, later joined by bassist Alex Perkolup. After two EP's in 2006 and 2008, they published their debut album, this one, on 2012. Right from the grotesque album cover you know what to expect. The lyrics are as bizarre as the track titles ("Massive Vulva Cantaloupe", "Buttocks Of Gloss", the album title), and the vocals by Jacobson are over-the-top (they sound like an amateur actor doing a monologue in a exaggerated way). In some tracks he's joined by some ladies, giving a Magma vibe, thus delivering the best tracks on the record. The intense performance by Jacobson has its highlights, but it gets kind of annoying at times, specially on the longest track of the album "I'm So Good Looking", where he goes on a rant about how good looking he is and not getting why women don't find him that attractive (Mmm... I wonder why Gregory...) The instrumentals are the best part here, with disjointed phrases and weird time signatures with some saxophone here and there, giving a strong beefheartian feeling.

This reminds me a lot of Onkel Frankz Cardiac Gorilla Museet (but I can't find any songs by the band here, so I must've just dreamed of it.)
