Review by Laura Sau

Dance Party, the 1965 album by Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, is a true celebration of Motown's signature sound. The album showcases the group's incredible vocal harmonies and the infectious energy that made them one of the most popular acts of the era.

From the opening track, "Heat Wave," to the closing number, "Dancing in the Street," Dance Party is a non-stop party that will have listeners moving and grooving from start to finish. The album features some of the group's biggest hits, including "Nowhere to Run" and "Quicksand," as well as some lesser-known gems like "Wild One" and "Live Wire."

One of the standout tracks on Dance Party is "Love (Makes Me Do Foolish Things)," a soulful ballad that showcases Martha Reeves' stunning vocals. The song is a testament to the group's versatility and their ability to tackle a wide range of musical styles.

Martha Reeves & the Vandellas were an american vocal group. They were one of the most successful groups in the Motown roster during the 1960's performing primarily soul, but also pop and rock'n'roll. In 1967 the group's name was officially changed from Martha & The Vandellas to Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, to conform with the company's recent changes of The Supremes and The Miracles's names to profile their featured lead singers. Line-Up Chronology Martha Reeves (1960-1972) Annette Sterling (1960-1964) Rosalind Ashford (1960-1969) Gloria Williamson (1960-1961) Betty Kelley (1964-1967) Sandra "Lois" Reeves (1967-1972) Sandra Tilley (1969-1972) Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 (Performer).
