Lovely song and band ❤
Beautiful lyrics too. I remember seeing them when they came on scene
A very old song by the Mersey Beats
Definitely one of the most talented groups of the Sixties. They were great on stage, saw them many many times. Loved them. Happy Days.
Love love love them. xxx
Superb 54 yrs on
Saw the Merseybeats perform this song just last night (6/4/17) at Weston super Mare - excellent!
One of the top, truly talented groups of that era. Too bad they didn't have a Svengali pushing them, like others I could name...
great song. = alex. ukraine
This has probably the greatest line ever written in any song lyric ever, " Don't pity me, as I fade from view". what a great song!
It appears he led a short and very wild type life,he died August 1988 aged 44.
They had a wild drummer called John Banks,They were good Live.
Great Great single, did Lennon and McCartney write this one for them ?
Great version .
No cabe duda qué el cuarteto de Liverpool, grabó muchas canciones qué antes ya habían sido Grabadas. Por otras Agrupaciones, y ésto desde mi punto de vista indica qué No eran tan buenose como todo el mundo creé.
The first known recording of the song was by blues pianist Piano Red, recording as "Dr. Feelgood and the Interns". It was released as a B-side of a minor rhythm & blues hit single (titled "Dr. Feelgood") in 1962.[1] The record became something of a cult favorite among several young British R&B enthusiasts, some of whom would soon go on to become members of well-known bands.
Another emerging beat group, The Hollies, recorded and released their own performance of the song with Graham Nash on lead vocals prior to the Beatles' version.
In addition, the same song was also covered by the Merseybeats in 1963. It entered Vancouver's CFUN chart April 18, 1964.
A Spanish cover was recorded by the Mexican vocal trio Los Apson Boys titled "Triste Luna".

This was recorded and released at least one year before The Beatles version (LP Beatles For Sale)
the beatles didnt do everything best . . this is better than theres .
nice version
Tony's voice is perfect for this song.... wonderful. x
Lennon's intense vocal on the Beatles' version makes the record. This one is pablum in comparison.
Released 1964 in Germany on their "The Merseybeats" album on Fontana.
What a great B Side!
What I think most people overlook & what I love about The Beatles version is - they do it "tongue in cheek" organ solo and all
