About Napalm Death
Formed in Birmingham, UK in 1982, by Nik Bullen. Napalm Death were originally one of the bands that defined the UK hardcore thrash/punk sound of the mid-late 1980s, along with bands such as , Doom and . The band has gone through countless line-ups and many former members have gone on to become significant figures in a variety of musical scenes.
Although their debut album "Scum" featured members Justin Broadrick (who was also a member of , the band that later became , at the time) and Nik Bullen (later part of ), the first stable line up consisted of Lee Dorrian (vocals), Bill Steer (guitar), Mick Harris (drums) and Shane Embury (bass).
By late 1989, Lee Dorrian, whose vocals epitomised the early Napalm Death sound, had left to form another band (doom metal band ) and focus on his label Rise Above. Bill Steer also left to concentrate on his other band, . Dorrian was replaced by former death metal band 's vocalist Barney Greenway, and an American guitarist, Jesse Pintado, was recruited from fellow Earache label-mates . A short time later Mitch Harris from Las Vegas' grindcore outfit joined as second guitarist.
Mick Harris left the band in 1991 and has since been involved in a plethora of solo and joint projects/collaborations as , , etc. He was replaced by Danny Herrera, an old friend of Jesse's from Los Angeles. This line-up lasted until 2004, when Jesse Pintado left the band. Currently the band consists of Barney Greenway, Mitch Harris, Shane Embury and Danny Herrera.

Absolutely great 12" EP from the legendary Napalm Death. Mentally Murdered definitely starts to showcase the metal leanings of the band but definitely maintains their punk origins as well. 6 great songs contained on this slab of vinyl highlighted by "Rise Above" and the phenomenal "Walls Of Confinement". Essential.

I love the artwork so much, I got a few t-shirts of it. One of their best releases easily; Lee Dorrian couldn't of sounded anymore terrifying.
I stopped listening to them after this. This is a masterpiece. I don't care for Barney at all.
Heaviest album w the best fidelity... Period ...gold
Best nd Album ever made
Crazy crazy crap ? ?
Unparalleled atmosphere, riffs and sound. Wish the old analog raw sound makes a come back in the near future, productions and plugins of today make shitty sterile sound.
Steady
This needs to be on Spotify.
GO VEGAN !!!
The Real Grind Core---Thx
Hahaaa this is beautiful!!!
No Mental Effort is such a tough track. Peak ND. Remember reading an NME interview with them when FETO was causing a stir. The journo took the piss out of them a lot. Pretty sure that's what the lyrics are about. "So we're just in our teething stages as far as politics are concerned. That's fine coming from someone, for whom sensationalism be their only wisdom in words." Nice one Lee :)
... ? ??

Huge fanboy .. well all of Bill Steer's work ...Carcass and this line up of Napalm Death.. this album happens to be imho...the best sounding of any heavy music period ...amazing engineering and execution....fan for life and when I get discouraged or disillusioned... This album reminds me that I'm a fucking beast .....
MOTHER OF FUCK....I forgot this existed!!!!!!!!!!!! last release with LEE!!!!
Sigh...that was the last release by ND that I really liked.
Brillopads and Broadbeans bloody delicious
Fuck this youtube shit...
getting violently stoned listening to metal, life is good!
This is grind' absolute TOP MASTERPIECE!
Wonderful!
Grind coming...Hail from Malaysia...Kick ass..
Their best album.
Napalm used to be fun with Lee Dorian, Mick Harris and Bill Steer. Today it is more about chaotic noise.
