Procession - Minuets For Moderns

Review by Максим Власенко

Procession's album, Minuets For Moderns, is a unique blend of classical and electronic music. The album features a range of sounds and instruments, from pianos and strings to synthesizers and drum machines. The tracks are intricately arranged, with layers of melodies and harmonies that create a rich and immersive listening experience.

One standout track is "The March of the Robot Workers," which features a pulsing beat and futuristic sound effects that evoke images of a dystopian future. Another highlight is "The Minuet of the Moderns," which combines classical piano with electronic beats and glitchy effects to create a dynamic and exciting track.

The arrangement and the vocals sound better than the vocals of the new seekers

I live in America and the only way I became aware of this group was from Manfred Mann Chapter III and Earth Band with Craig Collinge on both Chapter III albums and Mick Rogers on all the Earth Band albums up to Nightingales & Bombers. Still I'm glad to discover them. Even this early on I can still recognize Mick's voice even if the music sounds way different from an album like Solar Fire.

It's an absolute tragedy that hardly anyone outside Australia knows anything about this amazing era. Surely, at the beginning it was all covers, but some of them were actually brilliant renditions of the originals. And then along came brave artists like Procession who paved the way into the future of genuine Australian music. Good on them!

There's another version by the same group on an Australian compilation called Kicks which I think is better. Not the acapella one.
