Review by Megan Cordle

Always There is a collaborative album that features the talents of Side Effect, Ronnie Laws, PD Allen Trio, Willie Bobo, and Incognito. The album is a fusion of jazz, funk, and soul, and it was released in 1993.

The album is a perfect blend of different styles and genres, and it showcases the unique talents of each artist. Side Effect's soulful vocals are complemented by the smooth saxophone playing of Ronnie Laws, while the PD Allen Trio's funky beats provide a solid foundation for the music. Willie Bobo's percussion adds an extra layer of rhythm and texture, and Incognito's jazzy instrumentation ties everything together.

The standout track on the album is the title track, "Always There." This song features Side Effect's powerful vocals, Ronnie Laws' soulful saxophone, and a catchy groove that will have listeners tapping their feet. Other notable tracks include "Can't Hide Love," "Sun Godess," and "Little Sunflower."

I am hearing this original version for the first time in 2023 and I am in my 60's. This never made it to Australia in the 70's because we only had ABBA and ACDC! This is fantastic. I also love Incognito's version. Jocelyn Brown brought me here.
