Hot Dogs, the latest album by Stefan Grossman, is a testament to his mastery of the guitar. The album features 12 tracks, each showcasing Grossman's fingerstyle technique and his ability to blend different styles of music into a cohesive whole. From the opening track "Hot Dogs" to the closing "Waltz for Merle," Grossman takes the listener on a journey through blues, ragtime, and folk music.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Blues for the Mann," a tribute to the late blues guitarist and singer Sam "Lightnin'" Hopkins. Grossman's delicate fingerpicking and bluesy licks perfectly capture the essence of Hopkins' music. Another highlight is "San Francisco Bay Blues," a classic folk song that Grossman infuses with his own unique style.
