Probably one of the first songs I ever heard: it was a Billboard No.1 hit when I was born!

NOSTALGIA

Somehow, when this was issued, copies ran faster and Teresa sounded higher-pitched - She re-did the song for Coral and it was in her natural voice.

i remember this song but never thought about her being a relative.

Shocked I cannot find any credit to "GOOD BYE MY LADY LOVE

I prefer Sølvi Wang and Arve Opsahl’s version. Sølvi sang much better than Teresa Brewer.

Banned in some areas for 'suggestive' lyrics. In terms of record sales, the ban appears to have been counter productive.

I’m not really a fan of the 1950s music. I heard a norwegian version and found this for hear the original. I love music recorded 1889-1940

I was brought up on what I know know to be a stereo remake, circa, I think.. 1959-60. Not crazy about this original at all. My fave is her 53 remake.

A beautiful, inspired arrangement and production, where every part comes together to create magic. A true classic. "Mama" Cass Elliot was heavily influenced by these types of songs from her childhood.
