Review by Hoang Tran

The album Symphonie No 2 by Anton Bruckner, performed by the Berliner Philharmoniker and conducted by Herbert von Karajan, is a masterpiece that showcases the talents of both the composer and the orchestra. The second symphony is one of Bruckner's most popular works, and this recording does it justice.

The sound quality of the album is excellent, with every instrument and note coming through clearly. The Berliner Philharmoniker's performance is outstanding, with each member of the orchestra playing their part to perfection. Herbert von Karajan's conducting is also noteworthy, as he leads the orchestra with precision and passion.

The album includes four movements, each of which is a testament to Bruckner's skill as a composer. The first movement, Allegro, is a powerful and dynamic introduction to the symphony. The second movement, Adagio, is a slower, more contemplative piece that showcases the orchestra's ability to create a rich and emotional sound.

The third movement, Scherzo, is a lively and energetic piece that features the orchestra's brass section. The final movement, Finale, is a triumphant and uplifting conclusion to the symphony, featuring a beautiful melody that is sure to leave listeners feeling inspired.

Austrian organist and composer, born September 4, 1824, in Ansfelden, died October 11, 1896, in Vienna. In 1855 he began to seriously study music in Vienna and graduated in 1861 at the age of 37. It was only at 40 that he began to devote himself seriously to composition. since 1868 he has taught organ and counterpoint at the conservatory of Wien, meanwhile, he makes himself known as an organ concert player. His work was initially appreciated only by a small circle of admirers, only after his death, his great symphonic-choral compositions began to find acclaim and enthusiastic admirers in Europe and around the world. Josef Anton Bruckner best known for his symphonies, masses, Te Deum and motets. His symphonies are considered emblematic of the final stage of Austro-German Romanticism because of their rich harmonic language, strongly polyphonic character, and considerable length. Bruckner's compositions helped to define contemporary musical radicalism, owing to their dissonances, unprepared modulations, and roving harmonies. Please, add composer revision year for Symphonies 1, 2, 3, 4 and 8. Please, add score revision credit with tag "Score Editor" on all symphonies.
