Comments
You gotta turn this up and and also the Bass. I can get it together again man!!
This is one stank garage jam band. Depressing.
From John Mayall British Blues school, the drummer and his Ansley Dunbar. Jimi Hendrix flicked a coin to choose between Ansley and Mitch Mitchell, who would be his drummer for the Experience. Mitch won the toss !! This album, British Blues at it's best.
They still had that Teddy boy look while the Hippie Movement was spreading. Very interesting archival album, where do we go from here, kinda vibe??
"Aynsley Thomas Dunbar (born 10 January 1946) is an English drummer born in Liverpool, England. Besides releasing albums with 2 blues-based rock bands, Retaliation & Blue Whale in the late 60's & early 70's, he has worked with.. John Mayall, Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck, Journey, Jefferson Starship, Nils Lofgren, Eric Burdon, Shuggie Otis, Ian Hunter, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Mick Ronson, Whitesnake, Pat Travers, Sammy Hagar, Michael Schenker, UFO, Michael Chapman, Jake E. Lee, Leslie West, Kathi McDonald, Keith Emerson, Mike Onesko, Herbie Mann and Flo & Eddie. Dunbar was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a former member of Journey in 2017."
Soulful blues at it' s best
John Mayall as a producer
masterminds the whole band

FABTBIRDS BLUES, you have forgotten TOMMY EYRE on piano and organ
Lots of atmosphere.
good
Absolute gem !!
I discovered this album today by chance, what a great discovery it is! That first track wow! What a great way to open the album. I always loved John mayall and I love this record too what a little gem .
Aynsley and his band toured England in the late sixties mostly on the small blues club circuitThey really were a fine band, lead guitarist John moorshead was one of the very best blues players I have ever heard ,Very underrated. They did go to the US and apparently went down very well, but unfortunately they couldn’t hold it together. Aynsley then formed a new short lived jazz influenced band “Blue Whale” Aynsley was then taken to the US by the very impressed Frank Zappa and after leaving Frank’s band went on to play with several major US rock bands.
One of the first albums I heard on a local college radio station in 1969; awesome then, awesome today. I'm still stuck in those great British blues groups and songs....and proud of it.
Another time i have to re-write my personal view of Journey as the super-group around Santana musicians, as a project. Then came Perry and the show began .... and split off under pressure.
Ma chi cazzo è che suona l'organo e le tastiere?Topo gigio?????
under-heard, under-rated, under-loved. Let's change that! Listen, enjoy and share.
Sheffields finest, Tommy Eyre, on Hammond, Tommy was probably the best rock musician to come out of Sheffield he was a child prodigy who could play Bach and Rachmaninov and then jam out like Jimmy Smith,it was Tommy who came up with the intro to Cocker's version of Try With a Little Help From My Friends, not, as most people think,Chris Stainton, who was on bass,Cocker actually sacked Tommy and drummer Kenny Slade because they were "too jazzy
???❗ OHhhhh....Sugar on the Line ...at that 69's SUMMER WITH THAT "SPECIAL" GIRL???❗ THANKS FOR A REMINDER?????
???
I love the irony of Aynsley Dunbar creating the band name to get back at John Mayall for throwing him out of the band... then John Mayall produces the album..LOL. Also loved the earlier version of the band doing Stone Crazy with Rod Stewart on vocals, Jack Bruce on bass and Peter Green on guitar... sublime.
Run you off the hill: Amazing!!!!!!
Blues forever ,never die
Does this remind anyone else of Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac ? This is some great British Blues.
Great album TY
