Review by Asep Abdul Rozak

Bob Newhart's debut album, The Button Down Mind of Bob Newhart, released in 1960, is a classic comedy album that has stood the test of time. The album features Newhart's unique brand of observational humor, delivered in his deadpan style, which became his trademark. The album includes several sketches, including "The Driving Instructor," "Abe Lincoln vs. Madison Avenue," and "The Cruise of the U.S.S. Codfish," which are still hilarious today.

The album is a great introduction to Newhart's unique style of comedy, which is based on everyday situations and conversations. He takes ordinary situations and turns them into absurd scenarios, which are both funny and relatable. The sketches are well-written, and Newhart's delivery is impeccable. He has a way of making the most mundane situations seem hilarious.

The Button Down Mind of Bob Newhart was a groundbreaking album that helped to establish Newhart as one of the most influential comedians of his time. It won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1961, beating out Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles. The album's success paved the way for Newhart's successful career in television, film, and stand-up comedy.
