They took their name from the 1976 Supremes album "High Energy" with the 'e' in energy changed to an 'i'). They quickly found success with the R&B/pop hit, "You Can't Turn Me Off (In the Middle of Turning Me On)" (US R&B #2, Pop #12). The group recorded eight albums and scored a total of nine R&B hits before disbanding for solo careers in 1984.

Underrated song and group. I love this song. Good first album, talented women, they should have had longer music careers.

High Inergy for sure,,,this song was so under appreciated. No promotion...very little air play. You can catch this album in the 50 cent bin....too bad. Listen to this orchestration..the harmony...plus the girls were not bad to look at!! Real talent often gets overlooked..case in point. The beat is bangin'..Motown missed out on this group.....i love me some Supremes or 4 Tops...but this group should have been handled better...Shame on Mr. Gordy. Listen to the ending....Sang children!!

This was my favorite cut from the whole album. The music and the background is amazing. My favorite part is, " If I hurt you I'm sorry...I'll make it all right". I miss those days from the 70s when we used to kill this album.
