The Pyramids - Mexican Moonlight John Chewey

Review by Tommy Belknap

Pyramids' album, Mexican Moonlight John Chewey, is a fantastic blend of psychedelic, experimental, and ambient music. The album features a wide range of sounds and textures, from dreamy synth melodies to jarring guitar riffs, all tied together by a consistent sense of atmosphere and mood.

The production on the album is top-notch, with each instrument and sound expertly layered and mixed to create a rich and immersive sonic landscape. The vocals, which are often treated and manipulated to fit the album's trippy aesthetic, add an extra layer of intrigue to the music.

Standout tracks on the album include "Sunken City," a hypnotic and driving instrumental piece, and "Mexican Moonlight," which features haunting vocals and a pulsing beat. The album's closing track, "John Chewey," is a beautiful and melancholic piece that serves as a perfect bookend to the album's journey.
