Rap Reiplinger - Poi Dog

Review by Er. Deepak Verma

Poi Dog, the album by Rap Reiplinger, is a classic piece of Hawaiian comedy. The album features hilarious skits and parodies that showcase Reiplinger's wit and humor. The album opens with a parody of a local radio station, which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The skits are filled with Hawaiian slang and humor that only a local could understand, but the humor is universal, and anyone can appreciate it.

The album's title track, Poi Dog, is a parody of the popular song "Wild Thing," and it is a perfect example of Reiplinger's ability to take something familiar and turn it into something new and funny. The skit "The Haunted House" is another highlight of the album, where Reiplinger plays a local tour guide taking a group of tourists through a haunted house. The skit is full of clever wordplay and hilarious ghostly sound effects.

The Polynesian midget - Jensen Nephi Makaho!! Based off some of Honolulu's biggest entertainers at the time. Dick Jensen and Nephi Hanneman. Classic!!! Back in the 80's during the Jerry Lewis telethon - they used to cut away after midnight to each city's local televised production of the live telethon - because local entertainers would be getting off from their nightclub gigs- and would perform to mimic what Jerry Lewis' had been producing from LA, NY, or Vegas. Remember? An every year - for a period of time the Hawaii production got bigger and more elaborate- bringing in a large amount of money!! Thanks Rap- this is so creative - parody at its best!!

Raps was da bes! lol so funny. My Uncle Allan bought the record when it first came out and did every skit to da tee! Made us kids laugh too. I watch Raps videos all the time, missing the days of old Hawaii when it was still Hawaii...local kine style.
