Review by Eduardo Murillo

The Rocketeers' album Talk It Over Baby Hey Rube is a captivating blend of old-school rock and roll and modern indie sensibilities. The band's classic lineup of guitar, bass, and drums is augmented by a range of unexpected sounds, from brass to synths, that give the album a fresh and dynamic feel.

The album kicks off with the title track, a rollicking number that sets the tone for what's to come. From there, the Rocketeers take listeners on a journey through a range of moods and styles, from the bluesy "Sapphire Eyes" to the dreamy "Moonlit Night."

Throughout the album, the band's musicianship is top-notch, with each member contributing their own unique style and energy to the mix. Lead guitarist Johnny Rocket is a standout, delivering searing solos and catchy riffs that will have listeners tapping their toes and nodding their heads.

Lyrically, the album is a mix of heartfelt ballads and upbeat anthems, with themes ranging from love and heartbreak to rebellion and self-discovery. Singer and rhythm guitarist Rosie Rocket has a powerful voice that can convey both vulnerability and strength, and her lyrics are both honest and relatable.

Taken from a 40s comic book called Red Rube, when Ruben Ruben (seriously) was needed, he would utter "Hey Rube" and transform into the superhero, Red Rube.

Fun record. Reminds me of "Stranded in the Jungle" by the Cadets on Modern (also by the Jayhawks)
