Viva Cazuza is a tribute album to the late Brazilian singer-songwriter Cazuza, featuring various artists covering his greatest hits. The album showcases the versatility and timelessness of Cazuza's music, as each artist brings their own unique interpretation to the songs.
The album features a diverse range of artists, including Brazilian rock legends like Ney Matogrosso and Barão Vermelho, as well as newer artists like Ana Carolina and Seu Jorge. Each artist brings their own style and flair to the songs, while still staying true to the original spirit of Cazuza's music.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Codinome Beija-Flor," covered by Maria Bethânia. Her haunting vocals and emotional delivery perfectly capture the heart-wrenching lyrics of the song. Another highlight is "O Tempo Não Para," covered by the rock band Cidade Negra, who infuse the song with a reggae-inspired groove.
