Review by Jonatan Tiago [Jow]

Alan Burn's album, Parkin Meters On Lovers Lane Okay Okay, is a refreshing and engaging collection of songs that showcase the artist's versatility and musical talent. From the upbeat and catchy "Gotta Get Up" to the haunting and introspective "Broken Dreams," each track offers a unique perspective on love, loss, and the human experience.

One of the standout songs on the album is "Back to You," a heartfelt ballad that showcases Burn's emotive vocals and skillful guitar work. The song is a poignant reflection on the complexities of relationships and the struggles we face when trying to reconcile with those we love.

Another highlight is "Lost in Translation," a soulful and bluesy track that features Burn's impressive harmonica playing. The song is a powerful commentary on the challenges of communication and the misunderstandings that can arise in our interactions with others.

Notes

This was Alan's first release and the label is from Fairbanks, Alaska. The backing tracks were provided by NYC song poem hustler Monty Wax after Alan sent him the lyrics and a demo of the recorded melody. Alan recorded his vocals at the local Fairbanks radio station while he was attending college there. Alan paid Mr Wax his $149.99 fee and released it on his own Island label imprint. Boston DJ legend Arnie "Woo Woo" Ginsberg caught drift of the record and gave it some airplay on WMEX.
